Oil Free Hummus
If you’re looking for a creamy hummus recipe that doesn’t include oil, try this one. You won’t even miss the olive oil. The liquid from the canned chickpeas can provide the same creaminess without the excess fat.
1 can chickpeas, drained
½ cup tahini
¼ cup lemon juice
1 Tbsp garlic
1-2 Tbsp water or some of the liquid from the chickpeas
1 tsp salt
Blend the chickpeas in a food processor. Scrape down the sides, add the remaining ingredients and blend until smooth. If the consistency isn’t the desired consistency you want, add additional lemon juice, water or liquid from the chickpeas in small amounts until you reach the desired consistency.
